Insignia

We know profane and ecclesiastical status symbols, which are also called insignia. Heads of state, other dignitaries and judges wear external symbols of office such as a crown, scepter, ring, mayor's chain, seal... In the church hierarchy, dignitaries from the Pope down use a liturgical headdress called mitre, a pectoral cross, a shepherd's staff and a ring. In Stična, we keep the insignia of several superiors, which are comparable in shape to those of bishops.
