Visiting exhibition on Bishop Anton Martin Slomšek:
All for the glory of God, the salvation of souls and the renewal of the diocese

Together with the Archdiocesan Archive Maribor, we invite you to the opening of the exhibition on Thursday, 5 June 2025, at 6 pm. The main event will be followed by a discussion evening with the author Lilijana Urlep.

The exhibition is based on reproductions of original archival documents and presents Slomšek's life and work, which in many ways had a significant impact on Slovenian ecclesiastical and national history. In addition to his concern for education, Slomšek was also responsible for cultural life and was among the initiators of the foundation of the Mohorjeva družba, the oldest Slovenian publishing house. Among other things, the Bishop visited Stična in 1837.

The exhibition on Bishop Slomšek will enrich us with new dimensions of our national heritage. You can see it every day during the museum's opening hours, until 7 September.
