Explore Slovene Museum of Christianity
V The Slovene Museum of Christianity cordially invites you
on Thursday, 1 October at 6.00 pm
for opening of the guest exibition:
About the exhibition:
The exhibition on the missionary Betka Kajnč (1892–1984), Sister Magdalena, from Velika Nedelja, sheds light on the presence and role of women in the missions. It tells the story of a Slovenian woman who was first an assistant and later a colleague of the world-famous missionary St Teresa of Calcutta. Even today, photographs of both missionaries can be seen at Mother Teresa’s House in Calcutta. Sister Magdalena worked primarily in healthcare among India’s poorest and most vulnerable people.
This guest exhibition on Sister Magdalena enriches our programme, as the Museum of Christianity in Slovenia has been developing its Missiology Information Centre since 1997. Through the centre, the museum’s activities extend to contacts with non-European cultures, among which Slovenian missionaries have worked and continue to work.
