cordially invite you to the opening of two exhibitions
in Stična on Thursday, 9 April 2026, at 6:00 p.m.:
Studenice – Fragments from the Monastery’s History
and
Studenice Monastery in the Light of Restoration
The exhibitions will be presented by M. A. Lilijana Urlep, archivist at the Diocesan Archives of Maribor; Dr. Simona Kostanjšek Brglez, Head of the Monastery Revitalization Project; the Association of Conservators of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia; and Alenka Zupan, conservator at the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia.
A discussion session will follow the opening, where the presenters will explore the historical role of Studenice Monastery, from its Dominican beginnings to its later Magdalene chapter, and its significance in the cultural heritage of Styria and Slovenia. They will also share the latest findings revealed during the monastery’s recent restoration, which preserved it from partial collapse.
The exhibitions will remain on view until 28 June 2026.
