Photographs on glass plates

The photographic archive also includes 154 photographs on glass plates. The preserved cameras and tripods of father Stanislav Mali (1907–1987) indicate that the Stična monks kept up to date with the developments in photography and the various photographing techniques. His photographs are of great value for the research into the history of the Stična monastery, for they show the monastery around the year 1930. The collection of photographs on glass plates also includes a series of propaganda photographs, which depict the great hunger in Russia during the 1920s, a series of photographs of Ljubljana by J. Laznik as well as a series of photographic impressions from his journey to Bulgaria.
